July 2, 2024 Provider Production Goals
Overview: Provider Production Goals allow dental practices to set specific production targets for their providers, enhancing performance, accountability, and practice efficiency. We define Provider Production Goals as specific production targets set for providers to achieve within a certain time frame.
Purpose: The purpose is to align provider efforts with the overall objectives of the practice, enhance performance, and improve accountability. This allows dental practices to:
- Increase Accountability – Providers have clear targets and understand their performance expectations.
- Enhance Performance – Goals drive providers to achieve better results by focusing on key performance indicators.
- Improve Practice Efficiency – Helps identify performance bottlenecks and optimize resource allocation.

- Monthly Goals:
When you choose monthly goals, any production goal you set for a provider will apply to the entirety of the selected month. For example, if you set a monthly goal of $10,000 for a provider, it means they are expected to achieve that total production amount over the entire month. Note: The entire monthly provider goal will be displayed and compared to regardless of a partial date range selection. If multiple months are selected, the Monthly Provider Goals for each month will be added together.
- Monthly Goals:
- Daily Goals:
On the other hand, when you opt for daily goals, any production goal you enter for a provider will be calculated for each working day within the month. For instance, if you set a daily goal of $500 for a provider, it means they are expected to reach that production amount every working day throughout the month, with the total summing up to the monthly goal.
- Daily Goals:
- Finally, mark if the goals are Recurring. When selecting recurring goals, any production goal entered for a provider will remain constant month over month and day over day. This means that once a goal is set, it will stay the same for each subsequent month and for every working day within those months. Example: you set a recurring goal of $10,000 for a provider, it will remain as the target amount for each month and each working day until it is updated or changed.
Once you have setup the goals, they can be viewed in:
