Creating Custom Filters

Estimated read time: 8 mins

Introduction

The Patient Portal Module serves multiple functions and can be a powerful tool for generating custom lists of patients! This will allow you to generate lists of patients with completed and uncompleted procedure, age demographics, procedure code and many more! One of the greatest strengths of the Patient Portal is the ability to apply multiple filters to locate patients. By using and combining custom filters you can:

  • Improve Retention: Conduct a patient reactivation campaign by running a list of the patients that were last seen more than 180 days ago.
  • Increase Collections: Create a list of patients with balances over a specified dollar amount.
  • Target Specific Groups of Patients: Capitalize on summer vacation by generating a list of children that will be out of school and need to be seen over the break.

How To Add a Filter

Filter Examples

Say you are looking to fill some slots with a patient who is going on Summer Break. Simply choose some demographics that would fit this criteria. Here are some example filters you would select.

  • They are an active patient
  • Between the ages of 5 and 23
  • Due for a hygiene visit between 6 months ago and 4 months from now

Here is how you would do it. (Click the gif to expand)

Additional Examples

Look at these examples and apply what you learn from them to your own filters. You can create any list to meet any need you might have.

  • Active patients who were seen after May 2022 and have an unscheduled RESTORATIVE code.
  • Active patients who had a hygiene visit after January 2023 and are not scheduled for a future appointment.
  • Active patients with a future hygiene visit after June 1st and also have an unscheduled CROWN.
  • Active patients who have an unscheduled crown and have remaining benefits greater than $500.
